“Inspired by our home…” The story behind our new-look English Wines. 

For our newly released range of stellar 2022 vintage wines, we’re delighted to unveil a bold new look for our Balfour still wines. 

A bold new look, for our superb stills. 

At Balfour, we’re proud to truly showcase and believe in the potential of English still wine – alongside our Sparkling line-up. 

We felt the time was right for a new design that speaks boldly about the wine within, and shouts about the quality of the wine within. And we wanted to use colour, our winemaker details and the landscape we are lucky enough to call home to inform that design.

Inspired by our home

Neil Tully MW and the designers at Amphora, who created our new labels, described how they work – with the Balfour Winery in mind:  

“The redesign of the Balfour still wines have centered on introducing a stronger sense of place, representing the winery building’s strong architectural lines at the same time as continuing the use of surface pattern as a nod to Balfour’s flagship brut rosé.

The result is a contemporary and premium look that expresses the Balfour brand strongly.” 

Which wines can you try?

The first three wines to be released in our new labels are our Liberty’s Bacchus, Nannette’s Rosé and Luke’s Pinot Noir. All from the stunning 2022 vintage – described by our Winemaker Fergus as “the best year he’s ever worked with”. 

There’s a couple more exciting releases to follow later in the year, once they’ve reached readiness and our winemakers are happy they’re ready to be released. One of these will be a brand new launch for Balfour, and one of the first of it’s kind in the UK. Watch this space…
