At Balfour Winery, we welcome you to explore our beautiful estate. Our Cellar Door offers a relaxed setting with sharing platters, flatbreads, and a well-stocked wine shop. For a more refined dining experience, The Winemaker’s Kitchen serves lunch daily and is open for dinner on Thursday to Sunday evenings. You can also enjoy a vineyard walk every day; just pick up a map from the team.

Bank Holiday Fridays follow our Saturday opening hours, and Bank Holiday Mondays follow our Sunday opening hours, including shuttle bus times.
We are open 365 days a year. On major holidays, such as Christmas Day, visits are by pre-booking only. If you’re unsure, please call us to check availability.

We have ample parking available on-site, including an electric vehicle charging point for your convenience.
Train
Our nearest train station is Marden Station, with direct services from London and surrounding areas.
A free shuttle bus runs between Marden Station and Balfour Winery on Friday to Sunday.
Monday to Thursday : You will need to pre-book a taxi. It is essential to arrange both your arrival and return journeys in advance, as taxis are limited in the area. Uber is not available.
Our shuttle bus may be available on request for groups. Please contact us to enquire.

Yes, Balfour Winery is open to the public. Our opening hours are found at the top of this page.
Although you are welcome to visit without a booking, we recommend reserving a table if you plan to eat or drink with us.
Tours and special events can be booked online in the visit section of our website. Bookings for food can be made on the eat section. We recommend booking both. Tours and tastings last two hours and Tastings last one hour.
Yes, our Winemakers’ Kitchen is open for lunch seven days a week from 12pm – 3pm, on Friday and Saturday we are open through to the evening (last sitting 9pm). Please call us if you have any accessibility requirements so we can accommodate your needs.
We also serve sharing platters and flatbreads in our Cellar Door and on the terrace daily from 12pm – 4pm, perfectly paired with our wines.
No, tables outside cannot be pre-booked due to the variability of British weather!

Winemakers’ Kitchen: Bookings are inside only, but guests are welcome to enjoy a drink on the balcony before and/or after their meal.
Yes, we have good disabled access across our Cellar Door, tasting room, and toilets. Please call ahead of your visit so we can best plan for your needs. Our Winemaker’s Kitchen restaurant is only accessible by stairs however we will accommodate tables downstairs if required. Please let us know when booking if you require a downstairs table.
Children under 18 years old are not permitted on tours. If you would like to organise a group tour with children in attendance, please contact us to discuss availability of a private tour. Only visitors over 18 may taste our wines, ciders, and beers. We operate a Challenge 25 policy, so please bring valid photo ID.
Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed to walk around the Estate (except guide dogs) or in our restaurant. However, well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome on our downstairs terrace and Cellar Door area.
Yes, tours run in all weather conditions. Please bring suitable outdoor clothing and footwear.
