Tour and Tasting Experiences

The Winter Wine Experience, Nannette’s Vineyard Tour and the Balfour Wine Estate Tour and Tasting may take various routes dependant upon the weather and other factors beyond Balfour Winery’s control.

A tasting measure is approximately 50ml.

As an agricultural business and working winery, a programme of spraying is in place throughout the year. Whilst every effort is made to not disrupt the tours or detract from our guests’ enjoyment, there will be times when it is not possible to walk the Estate due to spraying. Guests are encouraged to call the Winery on 01622 832794 and check in advance.

Harvest time at Balfour Winery lasts for several weeks during September/October. During this time, it is not possible to enter the winery production area and therefore any tours that include this element will differ from the advertised description. In this event, a film of the Winemaker and production process will be shown.

A tour and tasting experience may include elements outside which are undertaken in all weathers and conditions. Balfour Winery cannot be held responsible for any injury caused by walking on the uneven or muddy ground. Suitable outdoor clothing and footwear are encouraged.

If there are elements of an experience in which guests cannot or prefer not to participate, for example, a guest is unable to or chooses to abstain from drinking alcohol, no discount will be provided but an alternative soft drink will be offered.

Sharing platters and flatbreads can be ordered and enjoyed before or after a tour and tasting experience but do not form part of the tour itinerary and cannot be eaten during the tasting.

Only food and beverages purchased at Balfour Winery may be consumed on-site. Picnics on the Estate are not allowed under any circumstance.

Children under 10 years old are not permitted on the Guided Tours and cannot go inside the Winery.

Only visitors over 18 years old will be able to taste the alcohol available. Proof of age may be required (passport/driving license/ID Pass Card).

Balfour Wine Club Membership

Membership is annual and a reminder for renewal will be sent before the membership expires.

Our winemaker will curate a case of six different wines either twice, or four times per year depending upon membership option. The wines selected will depend upon availability and may be a mixture of still and sparkling wines. Duplicate wines may be received in one year if the four-case option has been chosen. No substitutes for the wines selected will be available.

Whilst every effort will be made to send cases within the month advertised, exact dates will be determined by availability.

A complimentary public group tour and tasting experience for two people is included in annual Balfour Wine Club Membership and must be booked in advance and taken during the period of membership. To make a reservation, please contact the Reservations Team on 01622 832794. This offer cannot be exchanged for a private experience, food, beverage, product or used at any of our other Balfour venues.

The Members’ 15% discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount or offer. A valid Wine Club Membership card must be produced on payment at the Winery and across our portfolio of pubs and hotels in order to receive the Member discount.
