The Story
The Winemakers’ Collection is where our winemakers step beyond the classic Balfour style and create small-batch wines driven entirely by curiosity, craftsmanship and creative freedom. For this release, father-and-son team Owen and Fergus Elias turned their attention to a single Chardonnay clone; Clone 76.
By treating the same fruit in two completely different ways, they reveal just how expressive, versatile and exciting English Chardonnay can be. One becomes a precise, crystalline sparkling wine. The other emerges as a textured, elegant still wine. Together, they offer a rare look into the artistry and intuition behind Balfour winemaking.
