Balfour Brut Rosé 2020
£55.00
This is one of the most powerful vintages of Balfour Brut Rosé we’ve made. 2020 gave us a smaller crop, but the fruit was beautifully ripe and concentrated. The result is a wine with real weight and presence, sitting at 12.5% ABV, but still carrying all the precision and freshness you’d expect from us.
Pale salmon in the glass, with fine bubbles and a nose full of wild strawberry, blood orange, and just a touch of crushed oyster shell. The palate is driven by that classic Kentish acidity (no malolactic fermentation), with redcurrant, pomegranate and grapefruit giving it both brightness and structure. The dosage was signed off after weeks of trials, and it lifts the fruit without ever softening the edges.
Clean, crisp, and properly delicious, a bold, confident take on our flagship wine.
Tasting Note: This is classic Balfour; dry, precise and powerful. Richer than some of its predecessors, the 2020 vintage produced an exceptional wine from a small crop. A complex wine that is more than just primary fruit, there are notes of burnt orange combined with a wonderful herbaceous note on the finish.
