Rewild with Nannette’s Rosé: Nature’s Perfect Pairing

This summer, from 1st June to 31st August, we’re raising a glass to more than just great wine. Our Nannette’s Rosé 2024 is officially Balfour Winery’s Wine of the Summer, and this year, it’s nature’s perfect pairing in every sense.

We’re proud to announce our partnership with Kent Wildlife Trust, supporting their incredible work in rewilding projects across Kent. For every bottle of Nannette’s Rosé sold this summer, we’ll be donating to help protect and restore the natural landscapes that make this region so special.

Who are the Kent Wildlife Trust?

Kent Wildlife Trust is one of the UK’s leading conservation charities, working hard to fight climate and nature crises. From grasslands and woodlands, to rivers and wetlands, their projects aim to protect wildlife, restore ecosystems, and connect people with nature. Their mission align perfectly with ours at Balfour Winery, preserving the beauty of the land and focusing on sustainability.

What is rewilding, and why does it matter?

Rewilding is more than letting nature run wild. It’s a carefully considered approach to restoring ecosystems to their natural state, allowing native plants and wildlife to flourish one again. Not only does it benefit the environment, it also enriches our experience of it too.

Habitats like wildflower meadows aren’t just a pretty view, they’re also a biodiversity hotspot. They provide food and shelter for pollinators like bees and butterflies, offer nesting sites for birds, and contribute to cleaner air and soil.

Across the UK, over 97% of wildflower meadows have vanished since the 1930s, meaning such habitats now make up just 1% of the UK. That’s why rewilding efforts are so important and the continued efforts to protect, conserve and restore.

Rewilding in action here at the Balfour Winery

Since 2002, we’ve transformed our Kent estate into a tapestry of vineyards, woodlands, orchards, and wildflower meadows. We’ve seen the power of rewilding firsthand, transforming parts of our land where pollinators, birds, and native plants now thrive with our wildflower meadow and ancient woodlands being prime examples.

Enjoy Nannette’s Rosé 2024 — Now 25% Off

Brimming with summer berry and a zesty freshness, our Nannette’s Rosé is a wine that echoes the beautiful English summer orchards. Blended with traditional champagne varieties, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay, this delicately pale wine is one of Balfour’s chart-toppers. The vineyard that grows the grapes for Nannette’s is surrounded by wildflower meadows, making it both a literal and symbolic product of rewilded land.

The structure and depth of Nannette’s makes it a perfect companion to summer salads, light seafood dishes or soft cheeses. Or, when the weather is warmer, serve at fridge temperature and enjoy on its own.

As our Wine of the Summer, it’s now 25% off – that’s just £18.75!
